Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
(Compiler) 235 pages The "Stanzas of Dzyan" are the skeleton to which the body of H.P. Blavatsky's work The Secret Doctrine is built up. The aim of the book is to lay bare that skeleton, to make the treetrunks stand out by cutting away the under-brush, so that the underlying structure of the whole may become better visible. Two Books of the Stanzas of Dzyan - from Sanskrit dhyana (mystic meditation) is an excerpt of the first volume of the Commentaries (in 14 volumes) upon the seven secret folios of Kiu-ti and a glossary of the public works (35 volumes) of the same name. «The Stanzas are given throughout in their modern translated version, as it would be worse than useless to make the subject still more difficult by introducing the archaic phraseology of the original, with its puzzling style and words. Extracts are given from the Chinese, Tibetan and Sanskrit translations of the original Senzar Commentaries...» - H.P.
